POLÍTICAS DE SAÚDE DO IDOSO UM ESTUDO EM INSTITUIÇÕES DE LONGA PERMANÊNCIA SOB A PERSPECTIVA DA FUNCIONALIDADE COMO PARÂMETRO DE SAÚDE

Abstract

This present study had as purposes; to identify in which measurement, the legislation refering to health politics for the elderly, has been performed in the ILPs scope in Bagé; to establish a profile of a institutionalized elderly, according with its funccional capacity, and selfperception of health. There was performed a descriptive research, like case study with qualitative approach, having as locals the ILPs: José and Auta Gomes Geriatric Foundation and São Vicente de Paula Society - Vila Vicentina in the City of Bagé, RS. The individuals in this present study, a total of 40 elderly people, 13 men and 27 women. There were used three instruments for the data collecting. For the first instrument, were used two evaluation scales, one for the evaluation of AVDs and the Scale of the Basic Activities of Everyday Life (AVD) of Katz, and the Scale of Instrumental Activities of Everyday Life (AIVD) of Lawton in the elderly. For the second instrument, it was draw up a form with identification data of the elderly, containing elements related to social issues, in the sequency was draw up a guide of a structured interview, made for collecting the perception of issues related to the funccionality, direct or indirectly. The use of the instruments had accomplished, after the project has been approved by the Ethics Committee in research of UCPel (Catholic University of Pelotas), following the orientation of Resolution 196/96.We had obtained as a result: the age of the elderly ranges from 60 to 9 5, retired, mainly females, singles followed by widowers, born in Bagé and region. elementary school incomplete education. In the analysis of funccionality for AVD, the major difficulties were found in itens related to the march, and in AIVD the deficits were homogeneally distributed among the analysed itens. The majority of the individuals researched analysed its health self-perception as "good", even in the existence of chronic diseases associated. The access to elderly residents to programs and politics, in its funccioning, through actions offered by institutions, showed precarious conditions in both researched institutions. From the diagnosis showed through the data interpretation, were suggested health actions facing the recovering and/or maintenance of the elderly's well-being residents in the researched ILPs
