dc.description.resumoirrefutáveis. No campo da educação, mais especificamente, a tecnologia já modificou em muitos aspectos as formas de ensinar e aprender, sendo, em muitos contextos, uma aliada para o ensino e aprendizagem de línguas. No que concerne a leitura mais especificamente, a tecnologia está possibilitando um contexto diferente de prática dessa atividade, a leitura digital. Por acreditar que a leitura digital pode oferecer alguns benefícios ao leitor, como portabilidade e agilidade, desenvolveu-se uma pesquisa com o objetivo de identificar as mudanças na postura do leitor neste contexto. Para o estudo foram selecionados cinco sujeitos, todos leitores de textos digitais. As etapas metodológicas foram divididas em três momentos: 1) aplicação de um questionário, que tinha o objetivo de selecionar os sujeitos; 2) entrevista, com a finalidade de levantar os conceitos e as práticas relacionadas à leitura dos sujeitos; e 3) observação de como os sujeitos procederam ao ler textos digitais. Os resultados mostraram que os objetivos do leitor do texto em tela são diferentes do leitor que usa o texto impresso. dc.description.abstractThe presence and influence of technology in the various situations of everyday life are irrefutable. In education, more specifically, technology has changed in many aspects the ways of teaching and learning, being, in many contexts, a support for teaching and learning languages. Regarding the reading ability more specifically, technology is enabling a different context of practice for this activity, the digital reading. Believing that the digital reading can offer some benefits to the reader such as portability and flexibility, a research was developed in order to identify changes in the posture of the reader in this context. Five pupils of an English course were selected for the study, all of them readers of digital texts. The methodological steps were divided in three moments: 1) application of a questionnaire, which aimed selecting the individuals; 2) interview, with the purpose of understanding the concepts and practices related to reading in the life of the individuals; and 3) observation of how pupils read digital texts. The results showed that the goals of digital readers are different from the ones that use printed texts.
